The High Visibility: On Location in Rural America and Indian Country website is a digital companion to the exhibition of the same name at the Plains Art Museum in Fargo, ND, which was on view from November 30, 2020, until May 30, 2021.
The exhibition website includes informational articles about the exhibition from Matthew Fluharty (Organizing Curator, High Visibility; Executive Director, Art of the Rural) and Andrew J. Maus (Former Director and CEO, Plains Art Museum), and an overview of the artworks included in the exhibition with artist statements and biographies. The High Visibility podcast episode pages also provide in-depth reflections from the included artists.
We are grateful for the support of High Visibility by Arts Midwest and the United States Regional Arts Resilience Fund, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
Exhibitions, publications, and media projects reframe the narrative on rural America and Indian Country to foster sustained exchanges between communities.
