The case studies included within this publication were developed to mark the end of the first decade of a groundbreaking project to bridge divides and build connections among Kentuckians.
An initiative of Art of the Rural in partnership with Appalshop, a statewide Steering Committee, and dozens of state and local partners, we are a statewide network that unites Kentuckians through programs that strengthen intercultural leadership, narrative change, and civic health.
Our core program is an annual relational leadership cohort that strengthens professional and intercultural competencies while bringing Kentuckians together to imagine our shared future. These case studies tell the stories of that work. We hope you find joy, hope, and inspiration within. We invite you to share your reflections online with the hashtags #CurrencyofConnection and #KYRUXat10.
A nationally-celebrated creative leadership program using place-based cultural exchange to develop the skills, networks, and capacity of rural and urban leaders to bridge divides and make change.
